September 2017 marks one year before all organisations currently certified to ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2008 need to be re-certified to the 2015 versions of these standards, for the continuation of their compliancy.

Failure to achieve certification to the 2015 standard by the deadline will mean the certificate is no longer valid.

If you are still to update your certification to the 2015 standards, you can contact one of our dedicated staff here at Interface NRM, who would be more than happy to discuss this further with you.

We can be contacted on 01952 288325, you can initiate a live chat or you can complete our online enquiry form.

This week has seen companies from the Construction & Service Industries, in Warwickshire and Stoke On Trent updating their certification to the new standards.

Additional information on these transitions can be found here for ISO 9001 And ISO 14001.

What is ISO 9001?

This week we have been busy certifying clients from the Software Development and Printing Industries in Bath, Glasgow and Derbyshire. But what is ISO 9001 and how could it be of benefit to your company?

ISO 9001 is a standard that sets out the requirements for a quality management system. It helps businesses and organisations be more efficient and improve customer satisfaction.

It was first published in 1987, so it has been around for many years. It is regularly updated to ensure that it remains relevant to today’s business environment. In its latest version ISO 9001:2015 it incorporates elements such as a stronger focus on stakeholders and the wider context of an organisation to fit the evolving needs of modern business.

ISO 9001:2015 is designed to be flexible enough for use by different types of organisations. For this reason it does not specify what the objectives relating to ‘quality’ or ‘meeting customer needs’ should be. Instead it requires organisations to define these objectives themselves and continually improve their processes to reach them.

Have you ever wondered how an ISO standard is developed?

How is an ISO standard developed?

The key principles in standard development are:

  1. Standards respond to a need in the market.
  2. Standards are based on global expert opinion.
  3. Standards are developed through a multi-stakeholder process.
  4. Standards are based on a consensus.

You can learn more about this on the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) website here.

You can also get involved in standards development, whether you are a consumer or in business you can be part of the next generation of standards. Find out more about getting involved.

This week we have been certifying against ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 18001 in Coventry, London and Winchester.
