“As a ‘Service’ industry company in a competitive market bagport realised that being sustainable makes long-term economic sense. This is why we chose to go for a combined Quality and Environmental Management System, which led us to obtaining certification for ISO 14001:2015 as an addition to our existing certification for ISO 9001:2015”.

“We have now developed a ‘Sustainability Policy’ which has a clear vision and strategy that we have aligned to our main contracts. We would not have achieved this without the exceptional quality of service provided by Interface-NRM, who were the obvious choice as their guidance and support was invaluable”

Steve MacGregor, UK General Manager – Bagport Limited.

Bagport are a Baggage Service Company who are based in Warwickshire and have gained ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 9001:2015 certification through Interface-NRM.

September 2017 marks one year before all organisations currently certified to ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2008 need to be re-certified to the 2015 versions of these standards, for the continuation of their compliancy.

Failure to achieve certification to the 2015 standard by the deadline will mean the certificate is no longer valid.

If you are still to update your certification to the 2015 standards, you can contact one of our dedicated staff here at Interface NRM, who would be more than happy to discuss this further with you.

Have you ever wondered how an ISO standard is developed?

How is an ISO standard developed?

The key principles in standard development are:

  1. Standards respond to a need in the market.
  2. Standards are based on global expert opinion.
  3. Standards are developed through a multi-stakeholder process.
  4. Standards are based on a consensus.

You can learn more about this on the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) website here.

You can also get involved in standards development, whether you are a consumer or in business you can be part of the next generation of standards. Find out more about getting involved.

This week we have been certifying against ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 18001 in Coventry, London and Winchester.
